I don't think she believes us when we tell her she's beautiful. She was disbelieving when I told her that in a few years the kids who make fun of her for being skinny we be dying of jealousy. I think she thinks it's all grown-up stuff, because we can't very well say she's ugly.

At any rate, it's not that beauty doesn't matter, it's that worrying about it is a waste of time. Either people think you're pretty or they don't.
