A few Ana-cdotes, then I sleep. Finally.

So, you know she can sit "up", right? Well, now she's added a new trick to her repetoire. She can lie reclined on my chest (while I'm mostly lying down), grab onto something as insubstantial as a blanket, and pull herself to a 45 degree angle. She'll stay there a few seconds before lying back down, only to repeat the feat not half a minute later.
Look! There on my lap! It's a doll! It's a bear! No, it's SUPERBABY! Chattier than your average toddler, stronger than an angry duckling, she can SIT UP ON HER OWN!
It's a bit scary, really.
1. Today, we went on a "short walk" to the playground. On our way home (it had gotten dark), Ana starts stretching and grunting, reaching for I-don't-know-what. (I thought it might've been the telephone wires). She fails miserably, and comments "I can't reach. I too tall (by which she means short)." A few seconds later, I find out what she can't reach. "Connie, I can't reach the sky." She didn't sound too upset about it, which is nice. She can't reach the light switch, she can't reach the sky, it's all good. Maybe if she stood on a chair....
2. Earlier than our short-walk, we came home from the museum (and earlier than this, we *went to* the museum!). Ana fell asleep within 5 seconds of getting on the 40, sitting on my lap. I shook her awake just long enough to get off that bus and wait for the 53.
Now, I like the Cary Avenue bus stop for the 53. The barber shop by the bus stop puts out chairs. Ana walked over, all dazed, to the chairs, and proceeded to bend over until her chest was flat on the chair. There she fell back asleep, standing up. Periodically, she'd fall so much asleep that her knees would buckle under her. This would wake her up *just enough* to not fall down. It was quite possibly the strangest thing I've ever seen her do (aside from incessantly talking to my toes, trying to nurse off the table, and calling herself superman all the time, that is....)
3. Monday, we went into the city to see my mom. At one point, we're crossing the street, and we can just hear some loud horn-honking from another street - several different cars, it sounded like. I wasn't paying attention until Ana said, all awed "Connie! Hear yugix (music)? That's yugix!" Aw. How sweet. *huggles*
