Today was Evangeline's publishing party!

God I hate those things. They're really very boring, but you have to go and sit through the whole thing anyway even though even the part where your own beloved niece reads from her own book is STILL pretty boring.
But I went, and she ate cookies and potato chips.
I was interested to note that although Evangeline had made a BIG DEAL about how there was a "girl Jordyn" and a "boy Jordan" in her class, one of them seems to have left. I'm not sure which one - Jordyn has a math group, but Jordan is on the birthday list. (It's very confusing, yes I know.) I was also interested to see that Evangeline never bothered telling me that her class has a Zoe and a Zoey! (Identified as Zoe A. and Zoey B. C. - but I changed the initials.) And they're born only a day apart, too. With so much in common, I'm thinking there's no way these two girls are indifferent to each other. Maybe they're friends or maybe they're not, but I can't imagine them not bringing the other up at home at least occasionally.
The names are so diverse. You take out the immigrant names, and the Hispanic names (a subgroup of "immigrant" most likely), and what you have are a combination of names that strike me as very old-fashioned (May, born in August, or Stephanie). Which is the fashion now, I know, but still...!
