I named her that, not the company. I thought it was a pretty, old-fashioned name, something buoyed by the fact that Charlotte in Charlotte Sometimes is told by her 50-years-ago counterpart's younger sister that it's funny that she has such an old-fashioned name - and that book was written in the 1960s!

Date: 2025-05-20 12:52 am (UTC)Rock Creek (where RFK Jr. was swimming) does not reek of sewage. However, it's not protected from storm runoff that has gone through sewers. This was "the creek" for us as kids, in the park of the same name down the hill. Mom wouldn't let us go into it back then either, for the same reason (this was the 1960s).
I wonder if the popularity of Charlotte is influenced by Princess Charlotte of Britain. I couldn't resist buying the current People magazine with her on the cover, for the occasion of her 10th birthday on May 2.
